Author Guidelines
Justine is the student scientific journal of Universitas Muhammadiyah Kotabumi in the field of Information Systems and Information Technology, published twice a year in May and October. The procedure starts with submission, plagiarism screening, review, revision, and finally publication.
Article Template
Manuscripts must follow the article template of this journal. The template is downloaded from this journal page: open the Submit an Article? window and click Download Template. If the window has already closed, click the red button at the bottom right corner of the screen to bring it back. Please make sure you use the template of Justine and not the template of another journal.
Manuscript Requirements
- The manuscript must be original, must not have been published elsewhere, and must not be under consideration by another journal.
- The manuscript is written in Indonesian or English, with a minimum length of 8 pages and a maximum of 15 pages including the bibliography, typed with 1.5 line spacing on A-4 paper, with a 3 cm left margin and 2.5 cm for the right, top, and bottom margins.
- The manuscript is prepared in MS Word using Times New Roman 12 pt, following the journal template.
- The manuscript contains the title, author's name and affiliation, abstract (in English and Indonesian, 150–200 words), keywords, and body. The body is organised as follows:
- introduction (without a subheading), presenting the background, problem statement, objectives, and a summary of the related literature [25%];
- research method, containing the system development or research design, data sources, tools and materials, data collection techniques, and analysis or testing techniques [15%];
- results [25%];
- discussion [30%];
- conclusions and suggestions [5%]; and
- bibliography.
- Manuscripts reporting system or application development must describe the development method used (for example waterfall, prototyping, RAD, or agile), the system design, the implementation, and the results of testing. Testing results must be reported with a clear and reproducible procedure.
- Figures, tables, diagrams, and source code listings must be numbered, captioned, and referred to in the body text. Screenshots must be legible when printed in greyscale.
- Citations follow the APA (American Psychological Association) style. In-text citations include the author's last name and year of publication. All cited sources must appear in full in the bibliography, ordered alphabetically.
- References must be managed using Mendeley, Zotero, or another reference management application.
- The bibliography contains at least 15 sources, and at least 85% of them must have been published within the last 10 years. Given the pace of change in this field, references to technology, tools, and standards should be as recent as possible.
- The manuscript must be free from plagiarism, with a maximum similarity level of 25%.
- Before submission, the manuscript must have been supervised and approved by the student's final project supervisor.
- Submit the manuscript through juma.umko.ac.id no later than two months before the month of publication. Acceptance or rejection is notified through the same system and by e-mail.
